PLAN PERFORMANCE

The KW Pension Plan is fully funded, with more assets than it owes in current and future pensions. The KW Pension Plan has $1.25 for every $1 of pension we have promised to our members.

CONTRIBUTIONS:  

Ratio of Waterloo Regional Health Network contributions to employee contributions: 1.26 

• In 2024, pension law required the Hospital to contribute, at a minimum $0.56 for every $1 of employee contribution. Instead, the Hospital contributed $1.26 for every $1 of member contribution, which is equivalent to Waterloo Regional Health Network’s contributions to HOOPP.

• Waterloo Regional Health Network contributed 225% more than the minimum required to strengthen the financial health of the KW Pension Plan.
